What our experts think

The Alphablocks Reading Programme is a fantastic resource for parents to support their child’s learning in line with their school lessons. One parent said how amazing it was that their normally reluctant child really wanted to get started on book 2 (after having really enjoyed the first book). The activities are great for dipping in and out of, and allow children to gradually progress their skills in reading and writing, without it feeling like homework. Children absolutely loved seeing their accomplishments as they completed each book, and really enjoyed being rewarded with the stickers!

We love that there is a variety of activities to support children learning to read and write. The craft activities also help develop fine motor control development, which also helps strengthen the muscles needed to write with a pencil. The puppets were particularly popular, and these are really good for encouraging discussion – helping children practice their speech as well as developing confidence and comprehension.

It would be even better if...

Parents will need to support their child when using the Alphablocks Reading Programme, and we found that children were really enthusiastic about showing parents how well they had done, so positive feedback will also go a long way towards building your child’s confidence.
