What our experts think
Children really enjoyed the challenge of learning how to play the Ukulele, and the colour coding helped them do this independently. It was easy to see progress after just a week, and children were so proud of their accomplishments, even putting on shows for friends and family.
Learning to play an instrument is great for creativity, as children try to compose their own tunes. As children learn where the colours are on the instrument, they can focus on following the notes in front of them. This is good for improving concentration and memory skills. Playing the Ukulele is also good for advanced fine motor control.
It would be even better if...
Our testers had trouble tuning the Ukulele, so it would be useful to have an online video guide to help with this. Younger children also needed help to get started using the colour coded notes.
