What our experts think
The children really enjoyed making models, some of them working together to make larger projects such as a flower garden and a fire station. They liked that they could paint their models after as well. Children are able to make anything they can imagine with Primo Mod modelling clay, so this is great for encouraging creativity. Playing with the clay can also help 4-5 year olds strengthen their finger muscles, which are needed for gripping a pencil correctly when learning to write.
It would be even better if...
Some children had trouble thinking of something to build, so it would be useful for younger children in particular to have an idea booklet. There could also be a small selection of paints included with the modelling dough for painting afterwards.
Younger children can create their own simple shapes that are easy to paint then play matching type guessing games
