What is it
For a very young baby, the ring is partially inflated to give head and neck support when lying down. As baby develops, the fully inflated Playnest will support baby in a sitting position, enabling them to reach out and explore safely. There are 8 multi-sensory features incorporated in the activities around the Playnest to stimulate touch, vision and hearing. Playnest is also an excellent place for baby to sit while playing with other toys. The fabric cover has a soft quilted centre for baby’s comfort and is machine washable.

What our experts think
The Galt Playnest is a handy product that grows with your child – from aiding sitting to supporting and encouraging play. Our parents loved the peace of mind it gave them when using it with young babies – they felt secure that if they toppled, they wouldn’t hurt themselves. The washable cover was also applauded as a great feature.
The bright, vibrant colours and shapes focus vision in developing eyes, and the tactile features provide sensory stimulation. Older babies liked looking at and touching all of the different features around them – there was lots for little fingers to explore, which strengthens muscles and helps develop motor skills. The different peek, crinkle and squeak features of the animals promote basic cause and effect logic – i.e. I squeeze the duck’s nose and it makes a sound, which fosters baby’s curiosity. Once baby is on the move, the toy can become a boat or a train… there is lots of scope for creativity which is important for encouraging children to play imaginatively.
