What our experts think
A delightful set that really appealed to our testers; they were very excited as they discovered all of the characters and accessories. The unicorn was a particular favourite, and we really liked the potions element, we heard many spells being cast as the children played! As soon as the set was built, the children set about creating their fairy world; there was a lot of imaginative role-play and storytelling. This type of play is important as it promotes personal, social and emotional development as children can act out and make sense of situations they may not understand, developing their understanding of the world around them.
A few of our testers took the set outside and included real nature in their play, adding petals and leaves to their scenes. This shows the benefits of imaginative play on creativity! Many of the children were reluctant to stop playing as the set kept them happy and engrossed for a long time. We found the swing did not stay in place very well, but this didn’t affect children’s enjoyment.
