What is it
The My First Buggy set comes in four colours (red, yellow, blue and pink, each with a white contact side) and comprises of 14 pieces, including a unique accessory – simple, push-in large buggy wheels.
With unusual shapes such as arches, half-arches and sectors, children can make a recommended 16 different types of Magformers cars, or get creative and make their own. With Magformers, every geometric piece has magnets safely sealed in every edge. But because the magnets rotate, two pieces always connect when they’re brought together.

What our experts think
The Magformers My First Buggy Car is a bit trickier to use than other construction sets for the younger end of this age group, so children are likely to need help to get started; however, this means that children have the opportunity to master a new skill and build their confidence. It also needs a certain amount of dexterity to join the pieces together so is good for developing hand and finger strength and coordination.
Our testers enjoyed seeing their final model and being able to drive it around. Because of the magnetic construction process, models can collapse if they’re too forceful with it – however, some children really enjoyed this and kept making their car ‘crash’ so they could rebuild it.
