Morphun Gears, Chains & Pulleys (Gearphun Junior 300 in tub+chains & pulleys add on)

What is it

The Morphun Gearphun system is designed to be strong, durable and flexible in use, including movable elements such as gears, cranks and smaller blocks in the shape of geometric figures as well as parts shaped like clock modes or advanced machine elements.

Gearphun Junior sets include all Junior Range pieces plus the new Gearphun pieces. This includes the 5 hole brick, 25 hole brick, spinning and driving gear wheels each in 5 different sizes, a crank handle and end stops. Gearphun Chains is an exciting add-on to the Gearphun Junior sets. This range will enable you to connect gears together via chain links and create even more exciting models. Each pulleys set added into a gears set has 9 pulleys and 4 silicone bands. This enables you to collect pulley wheels using bands. The set also contains a set of chains for the construction of moving structures.

All sets are supplied with STEM based work cards, with Teacher Guides and Student activities.

Gearphun Junior is a versatile construction set that promotes creativity and encourages children to explore the basic physics of movement and rotation. Our testers were excited to get started – some of the children needed showing how the gears, chains and pulleys worked, but once they got going, there was no stopping them.

The lightweight blocks are the perfect size for little hands and can be connected in a multitude of ways, making them accessible for smaller children. Creating different constructions helps children to learn problem-solving skills and logical thinking, which is great for developing skills in STEM. In a classroom setting, Morphun has been used as part of a range of lessons and helps promote learning through play, the most powerful pedagogical tool.
