What our experts think
This Wooden Pizza set has many elements of play and is great for encouraging imaginative role-play, the superfood of the play diet! Our testers loved including the pizza in their play kitchen and acted out many different scenarios – this kind of play is not only great for storytelling but also helps children to make sense of the world around them.
The children also sorted the different toppings into food groups and made patterns with them, which helps their categorisation skills as well as encouraging them to develop their vocabulary when discussing food. The pizza even came in handy for numeracy skills – our testers used addition and subtraction to work out how many slices were left and how many had been eaten!
