What our experts think
Children loved the simplicity of the Little Capt’n Pirate Boat, and it was lovely to see them talking through the characters and pretending the ship was rocking in the water. This is a great way to start encouraging imaginative play, which is good for creativity. Our testers enjoyed playing with the features, like the cannon, and this can add to children’s fantasy play.
Playing with the smaller pieces of the toy is good for developing a controlled grip, which is good for holding a pencil to write. We also like the handy storage area to keep the characters nice and safe.
It would be even better if...
Children needed an adult’s help to put the sides back on the boat.
