What our experts think
Our testers were very excited to see Justin’s house – they loved making the hidden monsters pop up too! The familiar setting and characters launched them straight into imaginative play, acting out things they had seen on the show as well as activities like going to bed. This is great for creativity and for parents to start a discussion about routines. We like that there are two characters (Robert the Robot was a firm favourite!) which are just the right size for little hands to hold. There’s plenty of space for children to play together as well, encouraging important social skills like taking turns.
It would have been nice to have more characters in the set but our testers did go and get other characters to extend their play, which is really good for developing imaginative skills. The cards for ‘who’s behind the door?’ weren’t used much by children without adult input. The house and furniture felt a bit flimsier than expected; our testers did break the door and the robot in quite a short space of time but an adult was able to fix these back together.
