What is it
Geomag PRO-L is the evolution of the classic magnetic construction system. The power of these special magnets allows you to build even more spectacular structures. The polarity indicator, which is shown on the rods, helps you to understand the full potential of magnetism.
Comes in an elegant metallic pocket box – 30 rods and 23 spheres always with you.
What our team of testers said

- Allows children to explore the concept of magnetism
- Promotes creative play
- Can be used to explore the properties of 2D and 3D shapes
What our experts think
Geomag proved a great hit with our testers who kept on returning to it! They loved getting creative with the rods and balls and built a range of structures. Children enjoyed developing their understanding of the scientific concept of magnetism – there was lots of discussion as to why the ends attracted and repelled (they were colour coded to make this easier), complimenting children’s curriculum learning in a fun and practical way.
Some of our testers used their investigative skills to join the magnets with other magnetic materials – one of them even used the magnets to move objects without touching them! This kind of scientific investigation really promotes imagination and creativity, as well as the concept itself. This is also a good toy for reinforcing the properties of 2D and 3D shapes taught in Key Stages 1 and 2. The children could build shapes, name them and talk about the various properties – there were lots of opportunities for extending children’s use of mathematical vocabulary. The product is well packaged and we liked the tin, it is a great toy for popping in your bag when you are out and about. Our only criticism is that at times it was a challenge to get the pieces back in the tin due to the strength of the magnets!
