What is it
The power of this special magnet allows you to build even more spectacular structures. The polarity indicator, which is shown on the rods, helps you to understand the full potential of magnetism. Thanks to the magic of magnetism, you can play tricks to both test your skills and to relieve daily stress while keeping your imagination always active.
What our team of testers said
"I like that you can make lots of different shapes with it" - Girl aged 8
"I really liked how you could make the base of a pyramid." - Boy aged 8
- Allows children the explore the concept of magnetism
- Promotes creative play
- Can be used to explore the properties of 2D and 3D shapes
What our experts think
Our testers enjoyed the challenge of trying to recreate the diagrams with this set. However, to start with they played independently and creatively until they noticed the instructions! This shows that the set not only encourages concentration and attention skills when following the instructions and pictures to create the final piece, but also promotes imaginative play and creativity when children are constructing their own designs.
There was lots of scope to further children’s understanding of the scientific concept of magnetism and for reinforcing the properties of 2D and 3D shapes taught in Key Stages 1 and 2. The children could build shapes, name them and talk about the various properties – there were lots of opportunities for extending children’s use of mathematical vocabulary, which compliments their school learning in a fun and practical way. We also found that the set is good for children to play with while out and about to keep their attention and imagination active.
