What is it

This new platform makes it possible to build even bigger and more stable constructions – imagination without limits! The wide range of colours and bright pieces provide a whole new way to play.

Magnetic forces and geometric shapes combine to create the Geomag Panels range: this has now been completely updated, with brand new colours and even more pieces. The bright and transparent panels make the structures more solid, taking shape thanks to the colourful triangles, squares and pentagonal panels.

What our team of testers said

"You can be creative and make lots of things with them." - Girl aged 7

"I need a lot of pentagons." - Boy aged 11

Skills Developed

  • Explores the concept of magnetism
  • Develops knowledge and understanding of 2D and 3D shapes
  • Good for developing fine motor control

What our experts think

Our testers were drawn to the magnets right away – they loved the colours and ‘magic’ way they stuck to each other! The toy provides the perfect opportunity for discussing the concept of magnetism – with adult input children can learn about the different poles as well as magnetic vs. non-magnetic materials – as well as allowing children to explore names and properties of 2D and 3D shapes. This complements children’s learning at school in both Key Stage 1 and 2.

The different panels also mean that children can make a wide range of structures: dinosaurs, houses, pyramids… this opportunity for imaginative play promotes creativity and storytelling. The instructions can also be followed to construct even more shapes – building on concentration, attention and problem-solving logic, as children work out how to fit the pieces together to make the final result.
