What our experts think

Our testers loved the bright colours of this set and immediately wanted to start creating! They loved how the set uses the power of magnetism – there is lots of scope here to develop children’s knowledge and understanding of the concept of magnets, which compliments their curriculum learning in science. The set can also be used to consolidate children’s knowledge of 2D and 3D shapes and their properties, which is part of the National Curriculum for Key Stages 1 and 2.

The size of the pieces meant that the children needed a good degree of fine motor control – for those that struggle, the Geomag sets provide a fun way of refining those dexterity and hand-eye coordination skills. Some of the younger children found following the instructions in the booklet a little tricky – but they were able to use their imagination and create their own structures, great for promoting creativity.
