What is it
The Colour Code game by Smart Games is a multi-level puzzle with 25 levels in each of 4 graded sections (starter, junior, expert and master).
This puzzle has 18 coloured tiles which must be stacked in the holder to provide the correct combination to each particular challenge. In addition to working out which tiles will be needed, the puzzler has to work out the orientation and sequence of each piece.

What our experts think
Children were really determined to complete the Colour Code puzzles, and loved the sense of achievement when they had! It’s great that there are so many different puzzles in one set, so children of all abilities are challenged and can also progress to the more difficult levels. Using trial and error children worked out which tiles to use and where to place them, developing problem solving skills. It is good that there are solutions in the book too, as this helps children if they get stuck and teaches them different solutions they can try in the next puzzle.
It would be even better if...
Younger children had some difficulty following the instructions, so may need a parent’s helps to start off with. This could be a good travel game if it came with a case.
