### What is it

Tiggly Addventure can be used with or without Tiggly Maths (sold separately).

Tiggly sets off on an adventure to give his grandmother the most delicious apple in Tiggly Town and the most hilarious gift to his drummer best friend! Along the way, he will need you to build bridges, ladders, and much more to help him overcome challenges on the land, sea, and even outer space! Tiggly Addventure introduces children to number-line concepts while helping improve their number sense and counting skills.

### What our team of testers said

"Now I only need 1 then, haha, look!...You land on the moon then look there's a red rocket" - Boy aged 3

"This app has been one of my son's favourites for months now and he's got a lot better and using the right number pieces" - Mother of 4 year old

### Skills Developed

• Helps children to fully appreciate the meaning of numbers and quantity
• The number line games (e.g. crossing the bridge) introduce problem solving and even an early understanding of times tables
• Allows children to playfully practice with number combinations encouraging their mathematical instincts - e.g. how many takes you from 6 to 10

### What our experts think

Children really enjoy playing this app again and again without realising they are learning maths principles. The playful elements of the apps kept children entertained both during each play session and over the long term (it was an app children wanted to play even months later), particularly with the Tiggly Counts counting rods. They loved seeing what funny hat they would give to their friend and delighted in handing the apple to their grandma, and their trip into space was a real highlight!
Whilst they were having fun, this app uses number line concepts to help children understand numbers and quantity more clearly. They build bridges, missing particular spots, and so understand how many spaces they can move in each go to safely reach the other side. We noticed how children initially moved a minimum number of spaces at a time and later became confident to move in bigger jumps. Where the missing spaces were evenly spaced we also saw the essentially reciting times times tables, e.g. 3, 6, 9 as they used the ‘3’ tools repeatedly to reach the other side.
The graphics in this app are fabulous and with no in-app purchasing or adverts you can be comfortable letting your children play. This is an app we would strongly recommend.

### It would be even better if...

Jumping the number line is slightly counter-intuitive when you first start. Children’s instinct seems to be to count to the X spaces they need to skip rather than avoid them. Once they realise they need to avoid these rather than aim for them it becomes easy to play. It would be ideal if it was designed as a bridge with holes in instead to make the concept clearer from the start.
