What is it
Through this app your children can visit the CBeebies Get Well Soon Hospital for a day! Children will hear the voice of Dr Ranj, as he guides them through the hospital, and meet lots of the Get Well Soon characters. Jump in the lift to a floor in the hospital and learn about the heart, lungs, brain, bones, and tummy.
Activities include examining five different patients in a fun scanning activity, watching videos and singing along with songs. There is a wealth of things to see and do.
Get Well Soon Hospital familiarises young players with the hospital environment, helping reassure children who may be about to undergo medical procedures themselves and introducing them to early-years biomedical science and their body parts.
There are lots of videos in this app including some of the hugely popular and funny, Get Well Soon songs.
The parent area includes lots of information, including conversation starters.

What our experts think
Get Well Soon Hospital with Dr Ranj is a brilliant app which brings the much loved CBeebies programme to the children. Our little players all really enjoyed the app and were reluctant to stop playing!
Children particularly enjoyed using the lift function going up to various floors to find out about different parts of the body; this was a lovely way of choosing what the children wanted to do next. The X-ray was another favourite
The app taught the children about their bodies, medical procedures, what a hospital is really like and about health; lots of this could be easily transferred into real life. The app could be used for children who have an upcoming hospital visit; to teach children about hospitals when a relative has had to go in; or for role playing hospitals at home… there is a lot of scope.
As well as the potential for role play, the app also encouraged the children to sing and dance – it’s lovely to find an app which encouraged children to get physical and transfer skills that they have learnt on screen.
It would be even better if...
Some of our testers were confused over what to press and some kept going back a screen – some simple guidance would have been useful.
