What our experts think
100+ Animal Sounds was really popular with our testers – we found ourselves surrounded by children giggling, roaring like bears, and fluttering like butterflies! It was great to see how much they enjoyed listening to all of the different animals. The names of the animals are read aloud, helping children build their vocabulary.
This app helps children develop an understanding of animals, and the different categories introduces children to the different groups of animals that exist.
It would be even better if...
The home button is too small for little fingers, so children needed an adult to take them back to the rest of the animals – this presented a major barrier to the game. The screen is also not very sensitive, so although babies showed an interest in interacting with the app, they were not able to.
Additionally, only one animal from each category is available with the free version, but the rest of the animals are still shown – this confused the children who still tried to tap on the animals to hear the sounds. You will need to pay to unlock the rest of the sounds through an in-app purchase.
