Top Toys for Boys
The race is on to find the toy your children want this Christmas and everyone has an opinion on what is top of the list. Do you buy traditional ‘must have’ toys or go for something less traditional and a bit different? A bit of both can be the perfect solution so why not mix traditional and non-traditional gifts this year. Have look at some of the toys the boys in our play clubs have really enjoyed, read what our testers loved about them and you will be able to find something for all tastes and remember that these toys aren’t just for boys.
For younger children, this Fisher Price Little People Skyway is a perfect choice. Bright primary colours aid colour recognition and at over 3 feet tall it makes an impressive toy in the playroom that boys will be drawn to, time and time again. They can play alone or race toys down the tracks, a fun way to learn about competition and turn taking. With a slide that ends in a jump, why not join in, measure how far they can send their toy car and then enjoy trying to beat that distance!
Sporting goods are always top toys for boys and this year is no exception. This Mini Micro Scooter is a great idea for the active and adventurous boy in your life. It’s sturdy but lightweight construction will give your son the confidence to enjoy himself whilst practising balance and learning spatial awareness. If they already have a scooter there are plenty of different ideas for good sports toys, so take a break from the norm and try something new.
Choosing something unusual can be so rewarding. Educational sets may not be a traditional toy however experimenting with science is a fantastic way to get your older boy’s brain ticking without them realising they are learning through play. This Static Science set encourages them to take the lead with clear instructions so they don’t have to rely on mum or dad to show them. With re-useable experiments they can return to this and show off what they have discovered! Let them present their findings and practise their public speaking too.
